Deathspell Omega - Manifestations 2002 (2008, France)

I had never heard this until recently, and when i did, i was pleasantly surprised. This album contains tracks that were recorded in 2002 back when Deathspell Omega's old singer Shaxul was still in the band. Though Si Monumentum Requires, Circumspice is probably my favorite release by DsO, its still awesome to see how the band headed in the direction they did with Mikko on vocals now. Check this out if you're a fan of their old shit, or fuck, if youve never heard them at all. This band rules.

Dissection - Storm of the Light's Bane (1995, Sweden)

ONE OF THE BEST ALBUMS (and bands...) IN BLACK/DEATH METAL, IF YOU DISAGREE, FUCK OFF! Though the band headed in a less awesome direction once singer Jon Nodtveidt (RIP, suicide 2006), was released from prison, Dissection remains to be one of the most influential bands in underground metal.

This album was repressed on CD not too long ago i think, and you can find it most anywhere. Fukkin' buy it!

Holy shit this album rules!! Katharsis has always been one of my favorite black metal bands. The first two albums (666 and Kruzifixxion) sounded more of a Darkthrone rip-off to me, while still being quite awesome. This album defines Katharsis' sound and completely brutalizes.

Definitely one of my favorite releases of 2009 by NoEvDia. Teitanblood plays death/black metal, and not that gay overly produced bullshit you hear nowadays.
